Hi. Has anyone used https://www.scaleway.com/en/ for hosting big forums With lots of images ?

Their network isn't that great, however if you're behind Cloudflare then that wouldn't matter too much. Other than that they're an "ok" budget provider.

What are you looking for in a host? Cheap/budget or good support/network, etc? What kind of storage do you need and approx budget?

To be honest I’m not sure about budget, just looking at the options, I’m looking for lots of storage space available and good support.

There are tons of providers out there, it's hard to offer suggestions with such a wide criteria, but:

Hetzner are cheap and have decent enough support, especially for the price - https://www.hetzner.com/cloud and https://www.hetzner.com/dedicated-rootserver

Hivelocity have good support and are in quite a few locations, although a bit more pricey - https://www.hivelocity.net/dedicated-servers/

WebNX are mostly in LA and Utah, good support, really good "specials" deals - https://webnx.com and https://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?t=1830653

All of these providers are "unmanaged", ie, they only provide support for things like hardware failure.

Also I checked their space, but seems they are to expensive for what they provide 350 space is the max they can offer. Where I'm looking to have TBs disk space.

Hetzner's newer cloud offerings are all NVMe based storage. You can look at their dedicated servers if you need more space, or for cloud you'll probably need to look for a provider that offers slower HDD based storage if you need multi-TB space at a decent price.

What's your budget? Could go for a hetzner dedi @ 54 EUR with 2x 1TB NVMe - https://www.hetzner.com/de/dedicated-rootserver/ax51-nvme or the WebNX WHT link I pasted have a dedi with a 960G SSD @ 69 USD.

Depending on your performance requirements, its also worth looking at buyvm who offer cheap additional block storage on their cloud servers.

Thanks. Im a bit consfused about SSD memory, is the same hdd?

I do understand that is faster. But, I'm looking more for space than speed.

in that case, you just need to focus on storage capacity being offered by the hosting company. ssd storage is of course expensive compared to hdd. but most bigger players have more or less moved to ssd for primary offerings.

buyvm seems to be offering 1TB of block storage for USD 5 which is pretty amazing. DO charge 10 cents per GB which comes to around 100 dollars for 1000GB.

your other option is to look into object storage. that is also a pretty good way to have tons of storage without paying for expensive code hosting. but from the looks of it buyvm block storage would be much cheaper for multiple terabytes of storage. they seem to support 80TB of block stoage on a single server. would cost around USD 400.

I do understand, and yes I would like to move to SSD, but unfortunately my requirements are huge space. If there the only difference between ssd and hdd is the speed, then I would be happy to choose hdd.
