Hello,

The acp link for support goes here

Thanks for letting us know!

@XenSoluce Addon Update Notifier does not recognize the newer versions of this plugin as you seem to have messed up versioning in the past. See here:

Having got aware of the update through this forum I wanted to update to the latest version of the addon and as it seems that in opposite to earlier versions one has now to go to your site https://xen-soluce.com/ and to create an account to be able to download the addon. I registered but on your forums but no confirmation mail arrived in my inbox. Hitting the "resend mail" button did not change a thing regarding this.

Could you please look into this as it seems a bit of a mess.

Thanks @SyTry, has worked! One question: In the resource descrition here in the forum ist says:

Compatible XF 2.x versions: 2.2, 2.3

While on your site it only says: 2.3.

I am still on 2.2. for the moment, so a 2.3 only addon version is not what I am after.

Which XenForo versions is Prefix Filter 2.0.1 Fix2 compatible with?

Hello,

Should still be good on both versions, 2.2 and 2.3. If not, let us know we can do a fix or so ;)

@SyTry
2.0.1 Fix 2 is successfully installed on 2.2 now. However: As the earlier version the versioning in ACP looks again different from all other add ons on my XF installation and somewhat wonky with the strokethrough orange numbering. Intentional or problem (esp. regarding Add-on Update Notifier functionality as mentioned earlier in this thread)?

Also, as already mentioned by @beerForo in mid July, two moths before the actual release and acknowledged by @CRUEL-MODZ all three links in the entry in ACP are still defective: the first one forwards to https://behindthescreen.uk/ while the other two create a 404.

Nice free add-on. It would be great that a parent category can display its sub-categories prefixes too.

You use this addon: https://xenforo.com/community/resources/add-on-update-notifier.9002/
and we change ‘Patch Level’ to ‘Fix’.

Yes, we need to change the links, but nothing too serious ^^.

Why? We're only displaying prefixes that can be used in the category. I don't think there's any point in displaying prefixes that can't be used in the category, because when you filter on these prefixes there won't be any threads.

Nope, parent category lists all resources, in the category itself and in its subcategory.

And if I click on the beta prefix all the beta resources will be displayed regardless of their subcategory.

So it's quite practical, because you can see a whole series of beta resources in 1 click without having to go through all the subcategories...

Yes, it can be very practical for resources

Yes, but you seem to have done that inconsistently (again) as AUN hints:

There is bravely a popup notice by AUN that the developer has probably manually changed the versioning as threre would be two concurrent. non-identical version numbers at the same time and this way he may messed up update notifications - which seems indeed to be the case.
... which has consequences and renders update notifications defective for that plugin. What would be the advantage of having an inconsistent versioning with two different version numbers used at the same time for a single version?

Sure. But then again: What advantage does it have to let support links link to a completely wrong and useless location? From a user perspective I'd expect if there is a support link by the makers that it links to a page with information about the add on and not to some random place that has nothing to do with it. Which is actually a very basic commodity expectation and those links prove to be pretty helpful as they do save a lot of time and take away a lot of risk and trouble. Should not be too hard to change three links and clearly not take more than 2,5 months to do that. So it should have been fixed in the latest release that came out 2,5 months after the topic was brought up.

We don't use two different versions,
Path Level = Fix is all otherwise the id version is good.
It's the addon I've mentioned that adds this annotation
The current version is 2.0.1 Fix 2

I'm not saying it's difficult to do, but we need to think about it for the next update.
And I never said we'd leave it like that, it's just not an ultra urgent thing that needs updating, it'll wait for the next update.
