Add-on RSS importer mod that allow us to limit the amount of text

We'd like to set a limit on how much text the RSS importer can grab.

For example, we'd grab the title, 300 words, no images, and open the source link in a new window while setting the node or category for AMS.

Any takers?

when it says description - is it pulling from meta info or from the article text?

and can the imported posts be posted as threads?
