XF 2.0 RSS Build. Add item attribute.

How can I add additional attributes to the rss items?
For example:

<rss version="2.0" xmlns:atom="http://www.w3.org/2005/Atom" xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/" xmlns:content="http://purl.org/rss/1.0/modules/content/" xmlns:slash="http://purl.org/rss/1.0/modules/slash/">

    ...
    <atom:link rel="self" type="application/rss+xml" href="https://myforum.com/forums/-/index.rss"/>
    <item name="value">
      ...

The short answer is that it's not really particularly viable. The RSS feeds aren't easily extendable without replacing the entire contents. The class that does the forum RSS feed is XF\Pub\View\Forum\Rss.
