XF 1.4 Rolling back XF version

If the need arose how do you roll back to an earlier version of XF?

Just thinking if I ever miss an issue between the upgrade & an essential add-on when testing on our test site & go ahead & upgrade the live site & find issues further down the line.

No - this hasn't happended to me - yet!

You would need to restore the database from a backup and replace the server files.

Hence why you should have a test site.

How to duplicate a live site to use as a test site

Given that an issue may not rear it's head for a while thus making any db backup out of date - would a new db backup made on 1.5 work if the 1.4 was reinstalled on the server? (XF version numbers given as examples only & assuming 1.5 is out of beta)
