Right Sidebar Ad Position Placement

I'm trying to place some ads in the right sidebar. If I'm understanding things properly...the XF predefined ad positions for the right sidebar are for the very top & very bottom (blue arrows in the embedded image).

If I wanted to place ads in one or more of the positons indicated with the red arrows...how would I go about doing that?

A 2nd question. Is there an XF 2.1 add-on that makes inserting ads in positions not pre-defined by the stock XF install easier?

Edit: Did some searching...and found some "Ad Manager" addon's...but some of these are kind of pricey & have annual renewals. Was looking for something that was free...or modest in price.

Or I just do some manual editing of templates via question in post#1.
