Reviews: Showcase, RM, Custom Fields or other?

I'm looking for a good process and workflow for members posting reviews on my forum.

Currently I'm using a single node to hold all the reviews:

Will the Resource Manager be a good tool for doing reviews?

What about the Showcase addon?

I'm open to any suggestions and something simple for the end user to use.

I have 1000+ reviews in my one review forum category so anything that can use the existing data would be great.

I've inquired here how Admin Extra has done theirs but have not heard back from them.

Showcase has the ability for members to rate & review a showcase item, but its far from being a "Reviews Manager". You are more than welcome to inbox me what your "requirements" would have to be and I can tell you if SC (or the RM for that matter) can handle them or not.
 
I have been struggling with the same question myself and realized that it would have to be something dedicated instead of modifying something to suit my requirement. Don't think anyone is planning to do such an add-on in the near future so will have to get something done when I have enough money.
 
I use custom fields. I just had to do a lot of template editing to make it more Review like. It can be done with some conditionals.

If you're looking for a more direct, one stop solution, then I think an add-on request/development is what you're looking for.

I'd suggest the Showcase author, bobster65 or Waindigo since both of them have add-ons that could be modified to become a reviews system (might cost less to do).
 
I think it's important to remember that the reviews themselves are often more important than the "features" of the layout.

As an example, I think Amazon reviews are the most used on the web - but consist of only a few fields!

I have an old system that Jake hacked for me into the XF look.....but it does not even require login (a good thing, IMHO, because that means I will get more reviews). And, yes, we have spam traps so almost nothing get's through.

Quite simply, the ability to run two SC's with the other having a named tab called Reviews, if possible. Don't mind buying an extra SC to do so.

You can only run one instance of ANY addon on a given site.
