Resource categories (here)...

For the XF 1.x add-ons, the add-ons resource category is further sub-divided into categories, but the XF 2.x add-ons category isn't...

Would it make sense just to get rid of the categories for the 1.x add-ons and move all of the resources directly into the add-on categories? I don't think the categories were ever really used with any consistency anyway (there must've been a reason for you not creating them for the 2.x category...).

You're certainly right, that's the primary reason we didn't go down that route with 2.x categories. The separation wasn't really useful nor used correctly in some cases.

The only way to move the resources to their top level would be to use inline moderation which isn't really fit for purpose when there's several hundred pages worth of resources.

We may implement batch update resources at some point at which point moving the resources will be more viable, but until then, we'll just leave everything as it is.

You're certainly right, that's the primary reason we didn't go down that route with 2.x categories.

I for one use the category/sub-categories selection all the time as they are very useful when looking for specific add-ons
