Replacing Censored Text with Nothing

If I put in a string of text to censor and don't put anything in the replacement text, I get as many "*" as there were characters in the original string.

If I put in a string of text to censor and put in blank spaces, when I click Save, it reverts to nothing, and I get as many "*" as there were characters in the original string.

I would like to have a string of censored text be replaced with _absolutely_ nothing - is this possible and, if so, how?

The word-specific replacements must be nonempty. You might consider using underscores or something. Otherwise what you want requires an addon.

I guess I'll make a Suggestion about this - there's no reason I should have to use something when I want to use nothing.

I have found a way to make this work - at the top of the screen, replace the single "*" with a blank space, then leave the individual replacement text field blank. Seems to work as I want.
