XF 2.2 Replacing a double dash?

I have a feeling this a Safari browser thing and not a XF thing, but:

On iPhone, typing a double - - (without the space) will automatically become a ——.

In Safari on a computer, this doesn’t happen. Do we know why not?

it's probably one of those apple things. they also replace simple quote with a stylized quote. this should also happen on macs as there is a support document for it.

In Keynote on Mac, change double hyphens to a dash, choose a quotation mark style and turn smart dashes on or off.
