Not planned replace skype with whatsapp

skype is dead, can we have Whatsapp as an option under account details?

I cant just write "whatsapp" there, I get this error

may be for you - for me Whatsapp has no alternative, all my business contacts use it.

You can share contacts with a QR code and expire them after use, but the phone number still the contact information that's shared.

The most appropriate alternative to Skype is just renaming it to Teams (everyone is reachable on Teams in the same way they were on Skype).

If you’d rather have WhatsApp, the best thing to do is just create a new WhatsApp field and let people populate that if they want to.

XenForo no longer ships any contact fields by default. New installs don’t have any of the old ones we used to add (no Skype, Twitter or Facebook) and we aren’t planning to add new ones at this point.

Control panel > Users > User customization > Custom user fields > Add field

It should be fairly self explanatory, and you can reference the prior ones if needed.

I actually agree with that, just use a custom field, and yes Teams is the replacement app for Skype so it makes sense.

I use many Custom fields and they are easily made

Old Skype URLs automatically forward to Team addresses if the account still exists, just rename it and be done.
