I've never quite understood why it says "like" in the first place, as Like is only one of various different reactions, not to mention any custom ones you do which could include "hate"

Yeah, it should probably be labelled "React" or something nowadays. My crowd are used to it, though, so not a big issue for me. And, interestingly, LinkedIn still uses "Like" and it also has a list of reactions (thumbs up, applaud, etc.)
