xenforo does not have autocomplete in search field to the best of my knowledge. you are more likely talking about browser showing entries from history. xenforo does block this information in some fields. like thread titles. it was added based on a feature request like yours.
if this is something that just bothers you, most browsers allow you to disable autofill form fields.

This definitely isn't a bug and we generally don't attempt to disable things like this unless there's a very particular reason (thread titles trigger something similar, for example).
But yes, this is just a browser behavior that exists by default. If you have a particular use case/requirement that should cause something like this to not be autocompleted, you can post a suggestion. (We'd want to know the "why" and not just the "what" that you mentioned here.)
