Recency Weighted Relevance Searching

From the Search Options, if I set 'Enhanced Search Default Search Order' to 'Relevance' and select the 'Enable recency weighted relevance searching with specified half-life' option, all search requests return the error: 'The search could not be completed. Please try again later'.



Is this expected?

You should check the server error log. However, this is almost certainly related to the custom scoring script/dynamic scripting settings. There's an option around this that explains the dynamic scripting situation and what to do if you don't have that enabled in Elasticsearch.
