Rebuilding Search Index

[PetForums]

I recently converted over from vbulletin to xenforo, my forum is hosted on a powerful dedicated server and has 361k threads and 5.3m posts. Everytime I try to restart building my search index cache my website becomes unresponsive.

Any help would be greatful.

Have you enabled Enhanced Search on your site? It doesn't look like it based on your search page (relevance is not a search option).

Hi Mike, I'm new to xenforo so I am not exactly search. It does seem to be enabled, but under search options I havent got elastic search enabled but I dont know what I'm doing so I didnt want to break anything.

Enable it like so:


Then go to Tools -> Elasticsearch Setup and select the stemming analyzer, if desired.

Then run the rebuild.

That would suggest ES isn't running.
