XF 1.4 Re-Install To Different Directory?

All,

I have installed and have been running my website from the root directory. I am now trying to setup a home page to go in front of the forums. The problem I am having is that the site always goes to index.php instead of index.html. I have tried .htaccess and other things to get index.html to be the first file type the server should pick up. I have contacted my server admin to see what might be going on with this.

In the mean time, I am thinking the alternative I might have to take is to get the forum software in a sub folder.

Is there a easy way to do this?

You can't have a different index file in the same directory as XenForo.

You will need to use an add-on as a home page or move XenForo to a directory.

Looks like I will have to wait for the server admin. Whenever I place a .htaccess file in my root folder I get a server error.
