XF 1.4 Question about thread merging

Hi,

Lets say you have threads A, B and C and then you merge them all in thread A leaving a redirect for 3 days. After the 3 days and logged in as admin when you try to access threads B or C via direct URL like threads/b.101 or threads/c.102 is it normal to get the "The requested thread could not be found." error message?

Yes, that's normal.

The thread and redirect no longer exist.

If you want the originals to exist and redirect for SEO reasons, then you would just make the redirects last longer.

If you care about static external hyperlinks to the original threads, then either a permanent redirect xenforo or a 301 in your .htaccess file would be the way to go.
