Question about image optimisation/webp

Now I've turned on Image optimisation and have converted everything to webp, I noticed that image proxy was turned on in ACP and I thought I had it turned off before. So just wanting to check - does turning on image optimisation also turn on Image proxy by default? And if so I assume I need to leave it turned on!

It doesn't turn it on by default that I know of. But you'll still want the image proxy. It's useful if anyone hotlinks to http images which would normally throw an error on a https site. So it's still necessary.

Ok thanks. It's just I've never had it turned on before! Although I do have an addon of Andy B's that converts images that aren't uploaded to uploaded ones (I think).

Anyway I'm really impressed with the image optimisation :-) So easy - just turn on the button and run the cache and all your images processed within Xenforo - it's a great option to have.

It's really neat.. and it will knock down the size of your attachments in half. Even optimized ones. Webp is very efficient. So that means less storage space wasted, cheaper hosting bills and faster loading web pages. It's a win/win all around --- with the only downside being really old software/browsers that don't have webp support.
