XF 2.3 PWA setup - Observation

Just an observation and not sure if it makes a difference but when setting up PWA in the ACP you are requested to upload two Icon Images (192 x 192, 512 x 512) as such:
"The path to your icon image. This should be a 192x192 image and usually a PNG."

However, when using the file upload on the page the file extensions are converted to .webp , not .png as uploaded.

Does this make a difference ie using icon images with the extension .webp and not .png as recommended?

But does it? Hence my question/observation
My anecdotal experience on Android is that it does not.

I can't inspect the image on the PWA to be certain what is being used, but I would assume the 512x512 is used on the loading screen as it takes up some hefty screen real estate.

All of my forums are set up to use webp (image optimization) and the images load fine, from the icon to the loading screen, when installed and then opened.

I setup my PWA after the upgrade to 2.3.4.

When i uploaded the png, the file automatically would become a webp.
Google lighthouse stated that it was an issue as it wasnt a png and as such my PWA setup was incomplete.

i had to point the location of the image to the png file directly. This resolved the issue.
