I'm new to Xenforo and to PWAs. I recently set up my forum and I'm trying to enable PWAs. I followed the instructions in the manual and my page shows "Your board meets the requirements to be an installable progressive web app.". I was able to install the PWA on my iPhone running ios17.6.1. I'm able to launch and use the PWA on my phone. However I'm not getting notifications. Doing some searching, it seems like when I first launched the PWA I should've gotten a prompt to install the app. I did not get that. In one post it showed that it should also show up in the navigation but I'm not seeing that either. I don't know if the problem is my forum setup or something on my phone.
I enabled the notifications in the PWA Setup section of the admin. Is there anywhere else I need to enable it and/or do something additional for notifications?
I also tried installing on my iPad, also running 17.6.1 and got the same result as my iPhone. I also tried installing on my MacOS running 14.4.1. I seemed to get a little further with this. When I opened the app, it asked me if I wanted to enable notifications and I said I did. However I'm not really getting notifications, or at least not in the way I would expect. After making a change on my forum which should prompt a notification, I did not see a notification on my mac. And when I brought up the app, there was no notification indicated on the forum either. However if I choose to refresh the app, I got the notification while viewing the forum and I also saw a red notification bubble on my app's icon. I would not expect I'd have to refresh the page to get a notification - that seems to defeat the purpose of having a notification ...
Note that I'm using the default Xenforo style. I haven't made any changes. I mention this because some of the threads I've found ended up being a problem with the style not properly showing the install button.
Anyway, if someone can provide a little guidance or how I can move forward debugging this, I'd appreciate it.
