It would be a nice to be able to disable the gender feature from the Admin CP. Currently we have to edit two templates to remove this feature.

They had for 1.2, with the new template tools you will be able to supply a REGEX to remove that from the two templates, and that will survive between updates

I don't know if I was dreaming or not but didn't one of the developers state that all of the fields are being moved to custom user fields?

If so, you can delete it.
