XF 1.4 Private nodes & Google Search

If i create a private node, will it appear while searching in google?

That is regardless, google search is not going to give people a snippet of and direct people to something that they aren't explicitly allowed to view.


(Consider google a guest user and then you understand why anything you want indexed needs to be viewable publicly)

In my case, all of our forum nodes are private because we are using XenForo for internal company discussion only. (We've actually discussed placing the forum behind a firewall as well.)

So, in our case, is there a way to integrate more comprehensive/granular search into our forum?

Hello @Mike - need a little help with a related issue. I did a Google search on my forum. Weirdly, there were hits not only for the main page, but also for contact us and the FAQs. Screenshots showing what I see when I am logged out.
Why would this be happening when the Unregistered/Unconfirmed General Permissions are set to Allow View, but Never for the View node and all the rest.
