Confirmed in other browsers too.
It's not the cancel which unfocuses the editor, it's the overlay itself becoming focussed.
It's when you cancel the overlay
Pressing OK/Embed/Insert => brings the focus back to editor
Pressing cancel => edit doesn't get the focus back
It loses focus for me about one second after I click the toolbar button.
You can see it fade out.
So I suppose it would be more accurate to say clicking the cancel button does not refocus the editor.
Clicking on buttons in Safari 6.0.5 will also make the editor unfocused (it's pretty random so to reproduce you have to click on different buttons).
Confirmed, Windows 7 / Google Chrome.
Fixed for the next roll out (tomorrow).
Does it also fix the issue mentioned in post #6?
Not directly, but that will be fixed.
That said, if you have a new bug report, it should always get a new report so it can be tracked exclusively.
I through it was related, but I post a new thread for this.
