XF 1.3 Pre-upgrading: Is backing up through WHM enough?

To avoid a possible incomplete backup from cPanel, I configured my backups via WHM so that my entire server can be copied before I initiate the upgrade to 1.3.2. I'm mostly curious to know if WHM is enough or if people do generally prefer shell access.

I'm completely new to this and the guide on how to back up using shell access still seems a bit daunting unless it can be explained more. So to be sure, is backing up via WHM good enough?

A Database and file backup (public_html) backup should be fine.

If you want the "easy way" just generate full cpanel backup so you can restore it easy.

I was told cPanel backups may not be complete, so I just want to be doubly sure about this.

I also do cpanel backups and never had a issue..

I have hostgator and they indicated that cPanel backups are complete, but I am just generally cautious in case my site or server goes corrupt or something needs to be fixed. I'm sure it's fine but I'm trying to take precautionary measures.

Then do manual backup via phpMyAdmin and File Manager.

What about backing up using WHM?
