Posts of the Week

Posts of the Week 1.0.4

Why does the plugin degrade users' avatars so much? It feels like it reduces them to half their size and applies the maximum JPEG compression possible.
Why does the plugin override the display of avatars at all and interfere with how they are rendered?
Please send me Dm with details your XF versions. I will look into in.

Does this plugin count all reactions, or only “likes” and “laugh” reactions?

A person passed away, and a post about their death is receiving a large number of sad reactions. I suspect that based on the total number of reactions, it will end up in the “Posts of the Week” section - but I’d rather avoid that.

Maybe it would make sense to add an optional setting so that only “positive posts” appear in “Posts of the Week,” for example, posts where more than >50% of the reactions are “likes” or “laughing” emojis?

Looks like a solid addon. Does it sort and show the posts in a descending order if e.g. the reaction score is set to 10?

I would be very interested in this if it can keep a record of how many times a user has won the POTW and if that counter can be shown in the user postbit and member profiles e.g:

Joined: Jan 01, 2020
Messages: 500
POTW: 3

Thank you for the kind words and great feedback!

Yes, the add-on sorts posts in descending order based on the selected metric—so if you set the reaction score threshold to 10, it will show the top posts meeting or exceeding that score, with the highest at the top.

As for your suggestion regarding tracking how many times a user has won POTW and displaying it in their postbit and member profile—this is a fantastic idea! It’s not currently built-in, but it’s on my roadmap as a potential feature in an upcoming release. We’ll make sure to explore this and keep you updated.

Really appreciate your interest—stay tuned!

Just waiting on this feature to be added, then I’ll be ready to roll it out on my live site! 😁

Also, I really like the idea mentioned above about allowing admins and moderators to manually assign POTW. Sometimes the number of reactions doesn’t truly reflect the quality or effort behind a post, so having the option for a subjective decision makes a lot of sense.

Thanks so much for the feedback and enthusiasm!

I’m really glad to hear you're planning to roll it out on your live site once that feature is added. 😊 Tracking how many times a user has won POTW and showing it in the postbit/profile is still on my roadmap—it’s definitely something I want to implement in a meaningful and flexible way.

As for manual POTW selection by admins or moderators—completely agree with your point. Quality often goes beyond reactions, and I’m exploring ways to allow that functionality while keeping the experience intuitive. This one might land as a configurable permission or action—stay tuned!

Appreciate your continued interest and support. 🙌

Been over a year since I am waiting to implement this plugin on my website. Your roadmap is quite long :P

First off — thank you for hanging in there, seriously. A year is a long time and i totally get why you're feeling the wait.

Our roadmap is packed, no denying that 😅 But your feedback genuinely helps me figure out what to push up the list. This one is on my radar and I'm working toward it.

I'll give you a heads up as soon as it's closer to ready. Really appreciate your patience with me!
