but as soon as 5PM rolls around (and until about 2am) we drop to this - and this has been going on for coming up on 3 months and the STILL can't figure out how to fix the problem.

If you are on cable it is more than likely a problem on your local node, something like a neighbor having dumb noise on the line, giant leaks at the drops, or other physical issues that only really present themselves when a high load is put on the node amplifying the problem. If it's not that, they probably need to split up the node as during peak hours it doesn't seem to have enough juice for everyone at the table.

I'd agree... except I have friends on the 4 points of the compass here and we ALL have the same problem at the same time. 43 square mile area.

Same isp or no?
The wonderful Zito Media cable provider. They simply have NO clue what is going on. Was rocking along great for several months and then they "improved their back end". I think what they mean is they hired a couple of hippos to sit on their equipment. :ROFLMAO:

Been a while since this thread was updated, but I found this to be pretty amusing. I heard a rumor that our download speed was being throttled because of workers streaming radio stations and stuff like that, so I tested it. The results were...well, you'll see.

Haven't posted in a while here. Same ISP as before, but it won't always be the same results. c:
