XF 2.1 Possible bug editing phrase where language is not English (US)

On one forum, the default language is English (UK) and English (US) has actually been disabled in the AdminCP.

I recently edited a phrase but and saved it but the edited version didn't stick (changes weren't evident on the front end).

After some trial and error, I discovered that I had to edit the English (US) phrase in order to make the changes stick, despite the fact that English (US) is disabled on that forum.

Not sure if this is a bug or not.

While it is possible to disable languages, disabled languages remain accessible to admins. I can only assume you must have still had English US set as your language as I cannot otherwise reproduce what is being reported.

Actually that's a good point. Worth noting that just sets the default language, it doesn't actually prevent people from choosing the US version.

So my comment still stands - you changed the phrase in the UK version, but your preferences most likely had the US language selected.

Yes. You're right on both counts. I thought that setting disabled languages but of course it just sets the default. And despite the fact that the default language was English (UK), I still had English (US) set in my admin profile as the preferred language.

Thanks for solving the mystery. :)
