The next day out of curiosity he called up the billing department to find out what it would have cost.

He would have been landed with of a bill for $1800 if he had gone through with it!

The American healthcare system is horrific.

So far the thoughts and prayers seem to be working a treat though. Fingers crossed he doesn’t end up needing a ventilator.

If you're uinsured in the USA there's no charge to the patient and the government pays ANY charges for testing and treatment.
 
I'm not sure of the exact details, he's usually insured, but work has sent him home and aren't paying him at the moment. I don't know if his insurance is tied to work.

Perhaps the $1800 is what would have been charged to his insurance company.

I'm not sure, but regardless, the fact you have to even stop to consider the cost like that after already travelling to the hospital, and then to be that concerned about some mystery cost before agreeing to be seen is just absurd. The hospital didn't suggest any alternative solutions so he just went home untested.
 
The doctors or hospitals aren't supposed to bill anyone that's uninsured and bill directly to the government so I'm not sure why the hospital would've even mentioned it to him.

Wife saw a good documentary by an experienced doctor who is w these patients every day. He said it must enter thru your face, and most likely from your hands. We are very careful about what we touch at the store and mail box and packages coming in. Staging in garage for a couple of days on everything entering. Thankful for the cooler weather else we'd be sanitizing quite a lot.

My friend is getting an antibody test on May 11. Drive thru, pin prick. He'll know for sure then. Costs $55 and worth knowing. He missed 4 weeks of work. Been back at work for 4 weeks. Early case for America.
 
While unfortunate for some we need to keep things in perspective. How many prior to this event fell seriously ill from the flu? What are the actual percentages of deaths overall? Factual deaths. Facts that are deaths reported that aren't actually CV2019 yet are categorized as such. Lots going on here for sure.

There are a lot of theories. I am not convinced there is factual evidence in any situation. I am not sure if anyone is aware of this but you will leave this life one way or another and you don't get to choose when or where. There are more sinister things afoot here.

If all of this is somewhat true. China is the cause. China needs to be dealt with. They have released a weapon of mass destruction against humanity. What are YOU going to do about it? Are you going to cower as usual? Are you going to blame the president of the US yet again? Are YOU going to stand up and call a spade a spade and bring the fight to the enemy that released this against the human race? Are you going to purchasing cheap garbage from overseas or are you going to decide that enough is enough and hold them and the companies supporting them responsible?

I already know the answer to these questions.

Been here 6 plus decades. I've seen far more than many. There are others that have seen more than I have yet might be less vocal about it. I'm not going to sugarcoat anything. I call bs when I see it and there is a ton regarding this situation.
