Why are so many of the Permissions for Administrator set to No as Default, without any apparent impact? Are Permissions irrelevant for the Administrator account?
I presume you mean the Administrator user group? If so, it's because XenForo permissions are designed to be cumulative across multiple user groups. Everyone is supposed to have the Registered user group as their primary user group and then have other user groups added as secondary groups in order to change (usually increase) their permissions. Fair enough, but the permissions set in Administrator 'out of the box' would prevent me as the one and only member of that group from doing anything - can't edit or delete other peoples posts etc.
But I can and have done all manner of Administrator level things - all of which are set to 'No' in Permissions. My abilities as a member of Administrator don't correspond to the out of the box permissions set for the group.
