Permission Issue!

Ho hum....

I have permission issues.

All of my admin permissions are set ok, all forum permission are set ok yet I'm missing most ability to moderate threads or posts. There is no drop down list to moderate threads except on admin threads and then there is just the ability to delete, nothing else. All I have is a "watch thread" link above forums right hand side with member generated threads.

So WTH is going on? :( SOOOOOOOOOO frustrated with XF and myself.

Thanks

Gabby

No, xF expects you to be a moderator and some features are locked to moderators only, no matter if you are an admin or not: http://xenforo.com/help/moderators/
Administrators do not automatically have moderator capability; they must be explicitly made a moderator, or granted the permissions, as with any other user.

The permission system in xF is actually very elegant, though things like this are kinda idiotic. I don't see why they double up the permissions like this, when permission B doesn't work if permission A isn't set.

Well, that makes no sense because I have it set up like that on my own forum. The only thing I can think of is getting access of the moderator bar. If you want that, then you need to be a moderator.

Ah.. Where else are there permissions? Gosh, it seems like there are too many places to set permissions. I looked everywhere-at least I thought I did.

So what I said originally :p

I knew it had to be that which I would recommend to never use "Never" so unless you need to set it, just leave it on inherit.

As I said per PC, I have configured it now as I think it should be. You probably should run through and see if I set it correctly. Remember, the grey box are basically do not allow unless we give you permission elsewhere. Never (red box) actually means never, it overrides any other permission anywhere. This should only be used for punishment groups or similar.
