Most modern platforms allow their users to upload and user their own emojis for use across the platform, such as Twitch channel emotes, discord server emotes, telegram & line sticker packs, etc.

This suggestion basically consists out of two (and a half) parts:
  • The capability for users to upload and define their own emojis, which can be used everywhere, were current emojis are usable
    • The capability to share these emotes between users in one form or another (such as providing access to your whole custom emoji library or defining packs).
  • The capability to restrict access to existing emoji categories to users with certain criteria, so you can build premium/limited emoji packs.

Not only does this help to stay up-to-date with modern usage patterns but also offers an additional revenue source for communities, that has proven to be worth it (all platforms mentioned above with the exception of telegram offer the unrestricted access against a fee).
