Not a bug PayPal payments deferring to historical price for some users

Affected version
2.3.3
Hi,

Our annual subscription price is £17.50 per year. This was put up from £15 a year or so ago
I have noticed that some people renewing their subs are only being charged £15 - it seems to be the recurring payment profile ones?

I've checked the user u[grade settings, and they say £17.50, so how are some people being charged the old amount please? It does seem to be since the recent issue with recurring paypal payments, but I thought that was resolved now

It's only £2.50 but this forum is currently running at a loss so it really matters :(

Thanks in advance for any help you can give

Cassie

PayPal does not (in this specific case) allow you to retroactively change an agreed upon payment plan. Which makes a lot of sense if you think about it; let's say you changed the price not from £15.00 to £17.50 but to £1,000.00. Would it be right and fair for you to be able to do that? What about £10,000.00?

The only thing you can do is manually cancel those recurring subscriptions on PayPal's end, and hope the users will sign back up using the new price.

Personal opinion and advice; do not do this. If even one such customer does not sign back up, you would need 6 customers to accept the new price to make up for the loss of revenue.
