Is it really necessary to have an business account for using upgrades?
In my case some of my friends and me use this system to share some costs. So there is no business, but I need a automatic solution for User pays this and gets automatically in another usergroup for paid amount of time.
In vB 4 I could do that without any paypal business account, of course, we had to pay a fee, but that was okay.

Another quesion is, if it is possible to restrict offers for selected user groups only.
Oh, yes, I tested this with 1.5.20 beta 2.

So, IIRC, this has to do with the IPN requirement. You can't get the payment notification from PayPal with a personal account. That IPN circles back to Xenforo to confirm that the user has paid for the upgrade.

Without IPN, it's just a manual process you'd need to handle yourself. Want automation? Get the business account for PayPal. *Seems like this should work with Premiere accounts as well.*
