XF 1.5 "Participant Groups" in conversations

Can anyone please tell me, is there an instructional document or video on how these work as I don't seem to be able to work it out!

Where have you seen that mentioned?

Bs uses https://xenforo.com/community/resources/conversation-essentials.275/ jo, but a previous version from original developer, (the owner who come before xon and daniel hood) thats were participant groups comes from.
