Image Resizer and Numerous Fixes

New Features:
  • Image resizer and cacher, reduces front page load times and bandwidth
  • Includes support for external attachment storage like [bd] Attachment Store

Nice Update!

Is it possible to add the following features:
- fontawesome icons for the likes, views, replies texts.
- BD Widget so that the news items can be displayed on any page, and thus be able to add sidebar components etc.
-ability to have configurable columns, i.e. id prefer 2 columns instead of the default 3 right now.
- grab attachments from the rest of the thread if the first post doesnt have it.
- be able to 'submit' threads to the news portal.

I will make it classes for likes,views, and replies so you may easily add the icons

It's not a widget yet but you can use widgets around it.

I'll add a column option. I never considered that before. It actually adjust to how much space is available on the page. The average person will see 3 boxes.

Grabbing attachments from the rest of the thread? I'm not sure I should have this implemented as a default option. Most people are using this as a news sort of add-on and so first post is the news item. Not that it's a bad idea, I just can't see a reason to grab other images. It could become a problem for some people.

Submitting thread to news portal is definitely a plan. We're already working on featured submissions so thread submissions would work the same way.
 
Is the CSS still being worked on? Seems like a lot of hard-coding yet instead of using the defined style properties.

Thanks for confirming. I'm not complaining, mind you, just want to make sure my expectations don't exceed what the current features/limitations are. ;)

I like how the current version is shaping up. Using the embedded images seems to be working nicely. Besides the CSS stuff I noticed that the option for "Limit Results" isn't kicking in yet either (the default is 25 on a fresh install but with the masonry scrolling I'm already way past it). Once the CSS is tweaked I think some people will be making some creative container presentations with it.

I use this addon (1.13) on my www.1kpss.com . But when I enter http://1kpss.com/news , I cant see images.
Images url is seemed like : http://1kpss.com/newsthumb/program_geliştirme_kavram_haritaları_02-jpg.154/
But when I try to open (http://1kpss.com/newsthumb/program_geliştirme_kavram_haritaları_02-jpg.154/) url in my browser in this time it says "Unable to fetch remote attachment for news thumbnailer" .

I make data and data/newsthumbs permisson to 777

I have added screenshots, please help ASAP.

Do you need the "load image from external url" turned on?

This is only required if you have an add-on which stores the attachments on another server. If you are using the standard XenForo built in attachment storage, this should be turned off (as default).

The error is where Oxy News is unable to get the image remotely, which will happen if it is stored locally. :)

Thanks alexp999. Disable to "Load Attachments from External URL" is solve my problem.
