Spammers are information criminals also, the same as software copyright violators, they deface your web pages to dump links (free advertising) without providing any value back to you, so they are all the same cyber criminals to me.

No wonder your like/post ratio is so high. Good insight, Fred Sherman. If, in fact, that is your real name.
Yes, its my real name. If I were going to make one up, it would have more of a porn actor quality to it, like Lance Stallion. :D

I'm going to have to disagree with you on this one. My experience is most absolutely have the means but have an entitlement mentality...that and a warped sense of morals. Those that do come from places where $140 is a huge sum are probable more worried about where the next piece of rice that's going to lodge in their throat is coming from than internet software. Regardless, I owe no one food from my kid's table because of someone else's lot in life.
Thats not quite what I meant and I agree with you. At the same time, on a global scale, there is a wide disparity between the economic realities of the developed and underdeveloped nations. Lets take it a little deeper. Chip manufactures locate in countries like Costa Rica because the labor costs are low. Which makes computers affordable to us, and the software we run on them.
Yet in those countries, the wages paid to make them affordable to us, makes them unaffordable to them. You can see how they might develop an attitude of feeling owed. We can't completely dismiss it as invalid.
Many of the companies I've worked with (IBM, Sun, Symantec) address this by offering different pricing in underdeveloped and developed nations.
Of course the counter to that is that there are plenty of freeware forums, so where do you draw the line? I'm not making any judgements one way or the other. I'm just observing that its a complex problem where there is room to consider all views as having some degree of validity.
As the world grows smaller, this is an issue that will need to be addressed. Globally, the rising tide has not lifted all boats. Some have been sunk, others are taking on water.

Dunno whats more worrying, the fact that people do this and get away with it, or the fact that someone on here has to be giving them access in order to be able to do it in the first place.

When the lawman points a gun to your head and takes everything in your home away, Black Hat or not your knees will get weak, that tends to happen when you realize you are going to jail.

And most of these "blackhat" pros in any western culture are <25 year old script kiddies.

Just look at any serious "hacker" in the news, usually using tools created out of russia / china etc.

Interesting, isn't it? Our greatest strength is also our achillies heel. We employ technology in every facet of our lives because we can afford to, yet that makes us vulnerable to attacks that disrupt our usage. I remember writing an essay in high school about what would happen if the Soviet Union managed to detonate a single high altitude thermonuclear warhead over Kansas. The electromagnatic pulse would have been disasterous to military technology.
That was 1978. Thirty three years later, most military equipment is EMP hardened but the results would be far more catastrophic to the civilian infrastructure. As the "haves" of the world, we are far more dependent on technology than the "have nots" and I wonder if that might end up being our downfall.
Are we the digital Romans awaiting the arrival of the tube and transistor armed analog Visigoths?

What's next ?

6 year old kid takes over forum software industry ?

Are these young kids really that much better and smarter than 30 year old plus programmers ?

This I do agree with...100% ;)
Exactly... if $140 is so much money, then why are a large number of these sites for MMOs that cost $15 a month to play?

The scary thing is, you lurk around any blackhat forum for a period of time, a 150k botnet is NOTHING compared to what some people run.

I also know of a group who run a shell botnet off vunerable vps and dedicated servers. They can hit a single site with 300gb/s+, that sort of power can knock out sites like ask, steampowered, ea...

The "good" young kids are "very good" at what they do. But most are just using pre-packaged tools and declair themselves "leet hackers" with no idea of the real consequences of what they are doing, and unable to protect themselves with any real masking. Go to any "popular" hacking site and the tutorials will say "tor browser is 100% safe".... yea.. right.

5 years ago the aim might have been to get not to computer savvy users to fall for phishing scams or similar, nowdays I think the education needs to also be aimed at the young generation to understand, when the bill comes knockin', your going away for a long time, as by the time they come knockin' they will have the evidence to prosecute.

Your average 12 year old is able to do things that were considered marketable skills 20 years ago.
I gave a talk on this a few months ago and explained it like this.
Consider for a moment that the landscape of personal technology is a country. For those of us over 30 - congratulations, we are immigrants. We can adapt and assimilate. We can become functional, maybe even comfortable, but we are not native born citizens and we never will be.
Those who were born into this country, no nothing else. When their brains were still forming, they were using tiny little keyboards and they developed the synaptic connections to be efficient at it. They speed with which they wield their iphones and blackberrys is scary to those of us who can't. They're brains have literally be wired for this technology while ours have not.
Their social conventions have changed for a digital world. Where we were uncomfortable with blind dates, they are comfortable with computer dating. Time and space are not impediments to intimate relationships like they are for us. The difference in how technology has affected their emotional and social development almost renders them a different species, Homo Technus.
We talk about the Real World and the Digital (or Cyber) World. For them, it is a single, integrated reality. We have two separate etiquettes for these worlds, where they have one. This often creates a culture clash, especially in the business place where digit communication between the "natives" is less formal and structured. We perceive it as a lack of education, while they view it as a lack of internet sophistication.
So, are they going to take over? Hell yes, and at a much younger age than we took power from the generation that followed us.
Doubt me? I bet Mark Zuckerberg doesn't. Under 30 and the youngest billionaire in the world, largely because he's "native".

To be fair Fred, the guy stole the idea for Facebook from college roommates, he was able to organize and finance the idea faster and made it by hiring coders to move forward.

But your point is that of innovation by young kids, it is well established or more established by Larry and Sergey who shocked IBM and Bill Gates with groundbreaking and market disrupting technology.

I can't imagine Kier or Mike feeling too great about it either.

Nooooo, I'm pretty certain they're happy with the arrangement...

Seem to remember Kier saying once that xf doesnt call home or do anything like that so gotta laugh when you see these sorts of people releasing files with a big NULLED in the file name. Wonder what it is they think they are nulling lol

*yawn*

You see that link in the footer, thats is known as a hyperlink (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyperlink) a.k.a a live link OR a callback. Whilst nulling XenForo is easier than waking up in the morning, that callback has to be removed ;)

Additionally you can complain at Paypal about his Donate button. It will hurt those rats much more if Paypal freezes their account (and they will do so if they get enough complaints about the site).

LOL yeah what a great idea! Good luck with getting that one going, I think you have to be hated like some people (myself not included) hate wikileaks before bank accounts start to be shut down.

What a bunch of losers.

The irony right there, it actually pains me, physically pains me.

Heh, my style and addon on there were literally posted within an hour of me putting them up on here.

Congratulations!!

Many of them come from underdeveloped nations where they feel entitled, because the world is unfair. $140 to them is a year's salary. And if we step back and take a wider view of the world, we have to admit there may be something to their complaints.

Funny funny funny. USA = underdeveloped? UK = underdeveloped? Germany = underdeveloped? Russia = underdeveloped? I know 1 person that would qualify as living in a 'underdeveloped' nation, so good work, you completely fluffed (thats right fluffed) that up! :)

Dunno whats more worrying, the fact that people do this and get away with it, or the fact that someone on here has to be giving them access in order to be able to do it in the first place.

Someone? You think this is one person? You sir deserve an LOL!

Yeah, good job no-one cares about script piracy :)

I lol'ed at thread. And about forum software. There are some free alternatives to paid scripts.

Also 'loled' my way through, but if you say MyBB is a good free alternative, ima slap you.

I anticipate this post to be removed, or the account, lets wait and see :D
