XF 2.1 Number of private messages to high

In the last 45 days i have sent some private messages to all members in a forum; today it was not possible to view the profile of the admin while the number of private messages was too high. I have now deleted some tenthousands or more messages; and now i can see the admin's profile again.
Maybe there should be a warning, a limit or something?

Which page were you trying to load?

Is it a view that isn't paginated?

i got memory allocation errors.
the php setup is high enough.

i guess that i had some hundred thousands of pm sent by admin to users
