Fixed Notifications delay

The notification issues here on XF.com (i.e. notification alert bubble not showing new alerts until one or more page refreshes) is quite annoying. I'm sure it would annoy my users too. I would not want to upgrade any site to XF2.3 until it is fixed.

Same thing happens here most of the time. Took a recording of it and while replaying it, i noticed that the notification is shown very briefly before the page loads fully, but isn't there once it's done loading. (On refresh it's shown correctly).

I believe this may have been a side-effect of issues with our AJAX events, which are resolved for 2.3.1. Do you still experience this issue here?

@Jeremy P, sorry, but it just occurred.
The red square alerts appears upon my arrival and then disappears quickly; upon reloading the page, it appears again.

I just opened this forum and saw an inbox alert so I opened it and the alert remained. I had to refresh the page for it to go away.

Another time on mobile, when I first opened the forum, I saw no alert but after refreshing the page, I saw an alert.

Both Chrome (Windows 10 Desktop & S24U Android)

For me when I visit the bell icon will be red for about a second and then go away. Has happened three times today when I have 0 new notifications.

Experienced a form of this. The red marker for notifications will be there for, like, half a second on a new page load, disappear for about 3-4 seconds, and then reappear again. It's nothing too serious, but it is slightly annoying.

Correct. When you actually have none that are new it shows and disappears quickly. If you actually have new notifications it reappears. Exactly as you stated.

I noticed some browsers have this error happen much more than others.

We've been waiting for months to upgrade, just for this one issue.

Is there anything being done to resolve it yet, so we can upgrade?

I noticed it appear here again today (and I think yesterday not sure) but I hadn't noticed it for awhile.
