Noob Questions - WP or not? - Ded hosting or not?

Hi all.

I have a website currently being designed that I was planning on having coded as a WordPress site. I am looking to bolt on a forum on a subdomain.

1. In your opinion, would the advantages of using Wordpress outweigh going for a static site?

2. If I use xenForo will I be able to maintain my header/menu and general styling from the main site?

3. Are there any quality bridges with long term support so that I can connect the main site and the forum?

Yeah, you can edit the templates in XenForo and change the general styling. A simple copy and paste will probably not work, you may need to redesign aspects.

3. Are there any quality bridges with long term support so that I can connect the main site and the forum?

XenWord comes to mind, but it's currently inactive. Before that, it was supported since 2011. It's being updated to XF2 it seems (see here).
