XF 2.0 No way of overriding the contents of globalAction-block?

I was poking around to see if I could have some fun by changing the global ajax indicator but it looks like the HTML content of the globalAction-block span is built entirely in JS.

Is there no way then of changing its appearance outside of the CSS class definition, like for example putting a totally different image in there besides the 3 bars?

It's not an image, it's actually entirely CSS based using CSS animations and transitions.

I don't really have any examples, but changing it CSS may well be possible.

I used the word "image" incorrectly there :(; I knew from looking at it that it is just three child elements getting animated through CSS definitions. The CSS is in the standard templates but the spans that create the block are being generated entirely in JS.

If you get bored and want to play around with using some CSS to put something else in there, like a FA icon, it'd be appreciated. :D
