XF 2.3 No reply box text editor with Brave browser, PC and mobile

I have a user contacted us saying there is no reply field.

The reply box appears, but there's nowhere I can actually type anything in. This behaviour also occurs if I use "quote and reply". I've just logged in from the same device using a Chrome browser and all works as expected.

• PC windows 10 x64 with brave browser
• Android tablet (don't know which version) with brave browser

User then posts that after replying with Chrome browser, that stopped. I wonder if that's a red herring though.

Does anyone know what might be up? (2.3.4)

OK, seems Brave has a built in ad blocker that's annoyingly on by default. Turning it to shields down seemed to be the solution.

Perhaps a ticket needs to be raised on brave's website about the ad blocker detecting Froala as an ad when it's not.

I run Brave on desktop and my phone, shields on and off, no issues (on 2.2 at least).

No issues on this site either.

It doesn't happen here though. On my site it happens with all addons disabled and default theme plus all templet mods off.

no issues (on 2.2 at least).

It's only just started on my site hence it may be something in 2.3.4 ?

There will be lots of issues with Brave and Xenforo.
I've seen issues as well.

rebooting the PC seems to solve some Brave browser issues like can't copy and paste highlighted text.

Brave is designed to be anti-ads, so many Xenforo sites may WANT Brave compatibility issues.

Just tested on my two other xenForo sites and it's fine. So it's a bit of a mystery

I am getting the same issue on my test site. I cannot see what could possibly be different about this installation - I've tried with no plugins, default style, removed everything I can think of including users, ads, notices, forums, prefixes, template modifications, Google Consent Platform, Google Analytics tag.

There's basically nothing left and still has issues with Brave Shields up.

I've seen issues as well.

That was to do with the word cookies in the title? Weird.

But in this case on a default clean install there seems to be no explanation for why this is happening.
