No indexing thin content forum pages - Before or After Migration

    I run a vbulletin board v4.x and am considering moving to Xenforo.
    Am reading the migration experience of the other forum owners and evaluating the impact and how to mitigate the drop in search traffic when Google tries to reindex the site after migration.

    One of the consideration that I have is about noindex thin content forum pages. So should I do it now even before the migration or after. What would be the best way to go about this?

    I can't advise on the no indexing of thin content as I can't really vouch for what benefit it gives.

    Generally, most people will find that redirecting URLs and submitting sitemaps to Google should be sufficient.

    Submitting a sitemap XML to Google is default functionality and there are vBulletin redirection scripts in the resource manager, such as this one:
