No GIF Avatar by AddonsLab - Disallow the users to upload GIF avatars

This is a small add-on that simply disallows GIF avatars on your board.

The add-on does not check and disable already existing avatars, but only the new ones.

The error message shown when a user uploads an avatar can be customized using phrase alnga_please_no_gif_avatar

The add-on is created as funded project by @Okuma Steve

This addon would be amazing if you added a permission node for allowing the upload of gif avatars - at the moment it makes more sense to just disable imagemagick (imo).

With this release, we have added a usergroup permission under "Avatar Permissions" to control which usergroups are allowed to upload gif avatars. By default none of usergroups are allowed.

Does the permission check for animated avatars or any avatar filename with the gif extension? Because it's possible to have a static gif extension image as avatar.

Does the permission check for animated avatars or any avatar filename with the gif extension? Because it's possible to have a static gif extension image as avatar.

It checks for image type as reported by http://php.net/manual/en/function.getimagesize.php so it disallows only images of type IMAGETYPE_GIF and does not use the file extension for that. It does not check if the GIF image actually has several frames or no so GIF images that are actually static (with one frame only) will still be rejected.
