No edit option on member profile page?

If I click a user avatar and get the pop-up card, there's an edit option if you hover over their avatar. This is useful for quickly getting to a user account to edit.

But if I can't see a member and use the member search instead, it takes me direct to their profile page. Am I missing something but I cannot see any edit option on that page, nor any means to bring their pop-up card into view. In that case the only option is to login to Admin, search, then edit, which seems a lot more long winded.

Hopefully I am missing something simple to edit directly from the profile page, if so, what?
