XF 1.4 New to xenForo, is editing of CSS.PHP possible?

    Hi folks,
With vBulletin and Simple-Press I was able to inspect elements of the site using Firefox and then go into cPanel's file manager and directly edit the .css files to make style changes. i notice though that xenForo seems to be different in that the CSS rules all point to a css.php file rather than some .css file.
Does this make direct editing of styles different or altogether impossible?
We've got a child theme set up so that part is good to go.
    Thanks! (n)

All of the CSS is in templates which can be edited in the ACP.

Or you can use EXTRA.css and add customised rules there.
