New Posts Widget

The new posts widget doesn't seem to follow the usergroup viewing permissions.
I have a few categories and nodes set to "can view posts by others", but "not view the content".
The posts in the restricted content areas do not show even the post titles in the widget, as they do in the node/topic list.
Can this be rectified by an edit, as this is the main "tease" to members considering upgrading their account.

Unfortunately, this is how it is designed to work so no bug here. Only viewable threads are shown in that list (it worked the same in XF1 too).

Thats a shame. Is there a way around this at all? Most members do eventually upgrade on our site and post in the locked areas, meaning that the regular members would see a very very small amount of new posts in the lists.

Not really, though maybe worth a suggestion.

Making it clear in other ways that there are more posts, such as through a notice or a template edit somewhere might be a good compromise for now.
