Navigation bar replacement

I'm struggling horribly with replacing the navigation bar on my forum.

Mainly what I want to do is take the navbar from another style that looks good and use it on mine.


Could someone please point me in the right direction? everything I've tried just botches it.

The navbar uses some special positioning and movers.

This is the template which calls the navbar:

Admin CP -> Appearance -> Templates -> header

And there are some style properties to define various heights and sizes in the header area:

Admin CP -> Appearance -> Style Properties -> Header and Navigation

8 hours worth of work and stumbling over myself trying to figure this simple stuff out... I should just slit my wrists lol
