XF 1.4 @<name> auto update?

Is there a way to automaticaly update all the @<names> on the post when a user's name is changed on the forums?

If i changed my name, it would still be showing @Benas223 on this post, but after clicking on it, it wouldpop up profile with new name.

Well, it might be replaceable with the post content find/replace add-on. That's not automated though (and there may be performance issues with larger installs).

Am I allowed to post this as a feature request in hopes for it to be implemented one day?

It's unlikely to ever happen as we don't generally touch old content like this programmatically. The whole concept applies to quote tags as well.
