    Create a php file called mail.php and add the below into it:

    PHP:
    <?php

    if ( function_exists'mail' ) )
    {
        echo
    'mail() is available';
    }
    else
    {
        echo
    'mail() has been disabled';
    }

    ?>
    Call that from your browser, and it will tell you if mail() is available.
