Not a bug Multiple Windows/Tabs - Alerts Queue - but don't de-queue

When using the forums with multiple tabs, any new alert shows a notification. However, if in one tab, you read your notifications, it doesn't currently update the other tabs to show that they've been removed.

I'm presuming some sort of ajax/websocket/comet implementation is in place to notify of alerts, but - it'd be nice to also remove them - I've just read the same thread 4 times thinking I had new alerts for it.

I posted in some other thread that focusing a window/tab (perhaps after a delay to reduce load) should refresh alerts.

Polling, comet and sockets aren't really practical.

Yeah not really a bug. Socket connections like that will tend to be problematic without a server infrastructure to support them.
